Sarah meets the blokes from the Cosmo bachelor of the year bash — and gets a date

Writer Sarah Swain has been single for longer than she wants to recollect. So to convey would like to others she's sharing her no nonsense enterprises each week.

Single guy OF THE YEAR

'Hi, Are YOU a single guy?'

As talk up lines went, it was a no brainier.

Also, supportively the 30 finalists in the Cosmopolitan X Tinder single man of the year rivalry had all been wearing naval force suits so were anything but difficult to discover.
Aside from DJ Tom Tilley, who, at any rate when I saw him, was in all white.

Be that as it may, he's charming so I figure they let him escape with it.

My buddy and I had made it our central goal to get selfies with whatever number bachies as could reasonably be expected at The Ivy Pool Club bash.

What's more, it was filled, pool divider to pool divider, with blokes.
The free champagne helped too.

Even though I’m supposed to be on a post-Christmas booze ban.
And you’ve probably heard by now that a 30 year-old RSPCA inspector called Ryan scooped the prize — those puppy dog eyes really did it for women.
Literally — he had his dog Goose in the photos.
I sidled up to him for an interview afterwards and though he’s nice and all that, Goose is a rottweiler and that would be the end of Prince Harry.
Later, my pal was asked for her number (by a bachelor who looked about 15 but still) and I chatted to exactly nine of them — and also caught up with the one I went on a date with, who’s lovely.
But I’m afraid when my editor asked if I ‘snared’ a bachelor the next morning (I thought he’d actually said snogged, while another colleague heard something else entirely) I had to say no.

I think I spoke to so many, I failed to actually ‘make a connection’, as they say in dating speak, with any of them.
Still, it was actually refreshing to find out I’m actually quite good at chatting to blokes — especially when I have the perfect line.
And I do have a date this week too — all in aid of charity.

The Hunger Project Australia’s A Table to End Hunger has enlisted some of Sydney’s hottest restaurants to donate a sought-after table for (look away now fellow singles) February 14.

Quay, The Paddington and Mejico are among places taking part — as well as The Pantry in Manly.

They’ve all donated sought-after tables and dinner packages for the romantic night, which you can bid on for charity.

In a bid to boost the cause I’ve been invited along to sample The Pantry ahead of the auction, with a date.
